Picture Parent Program
The Picture Parent Program is a PTA program that brings art and art history into the classroom. Children in grades K through 5 learn about a specific artist and take part in an art project related to that artist. Each artist discussed is also on display at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The artist information is already developed into a PowerPoint presentation and activity. Volunteers present the simple program and conduct the activity. Each session takes about 30 minutes. We are seeking volunteers to take on one artist for each grade and the volunteer presents that artist to each grade homeroom sometime during the year.
We are currently seeking volunteers for 2nd (Cezanne), 3rd (Pollock), 4th (Warhol), and 5th grades (Bearden).
If you are interested in volunteering contact Lily Derrick at firstname.lastname@example.org for full details and a preview of the artist presentation. Thank you!
