The dance is a PTA-sponsored event, covering the photo booth and any outstanding items needed for the dance so all students can attend without any cost.
The Fifth Grade Dance Committee still needs donations and volunteers to make the Fifth Grade Dance a phenomenal event for our rising Stars! The dance cannot happen without additional support.
Incoming kindergartners and families: Please join us on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, 6:30-7:30 p.m., for a Playdate on the Westchester playground next to the fields and large parking lot.

Coats should be heavy enough to wait at the bus stop or walk. If possible, wash any gently used items before dropping them at WES. There is a collection box in the first-floor hallway near the library.
All donations are due by Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Ms. Rebecca Wright, the WES Counselor, has coordinated with families for sizes they need. Huge thanks to Ms. Wright for her time spent organizing the list.
Our families are grateful for the generosity of the WES community. If you have any questions, please contact the PTA at westchester21228@gmail.com.
If you sign up and are not able to provide the item, please remember to cancel your selection so we can find another donation.
The WES PTA invites students to bring their grandparents or other special adults in their lives (other than their parents) to a special breakfast.
The breakfast is held during American Education Week so our guests can visit the student's classes following breakfast. The Fall Scholastic Book Fair will also be taking place in the library during the breakfast and throughout the day.
Families with last names starting with A-L are encouraged to come on Thursday, Nov. 16. Families with last names starting with M-Z are encouraged to come on Friday, Nov. 17. Please note that all buddies must have driver’s licenses or photo IDs to present at check-in.
At previous breakfasts, some guests required assistance. Please feel free to join us to assist any guest who may have issues with mobility or require special needs.
Registration is highly encouraged so we have enough food. A donation of $3/person is suggested but not required.
(Or download the flyer to register by paper.)
We anticipate that parking will be very crowded. Parking is on the side streets only. No parking is available in the lot unless a handicap tag has been provided. Please carpool or drop off and pick up your Breakfast Buddy adults if possible. Adults will need only a photo ID to enter the school.
No foods with nuts as a listed ingredient will be served. There will be gluten free options available as well.
We also need volunteers to help make this event a success! Please join us as a volunteer by clicking on the button below.
If you have any questions, please contact Monica Althouse at mltalthouse@gmail.com.

We’re so excited for our annual Fall Book Fair! (This year, our book fair is only four days, as school is closed on Monday, Nov. 13.)
We will offer extended hours this year: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Scholastic Book Fair is headed our way! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. And—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
The book fair will take place in the library. Students will shop all week during their scheduled library class. In addition, the fair will be open Thursday and Friday mornings during the Breakfast with Buddies events.
Payment is accepted via eWallet, cash, or check. Make checks payable to WES PTA. Please account for Maryland sales tax of 6%.
You can also shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for orders over $25.
Visit our Book Fair webpage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
We need volunteers to staff the fair morning, midday, and afternoon. Please help us make the fair as successful as possible!
All proceeds will support the 5th Grade End-of-Year activities. Dine-in or Carry out - your choice! No flyer needed.
Ms. Allen and some of the WES Staff, including Mrs. Lattea, Ms. Trail, Mrs. Haynes, and Ms. France, will be there to greet and serve you.
